Hey guys, I was filming this weekend and I noticed that I could only zoom in like 10 feet. I'm not sure what I did to my camera. I have never dropped it before. Is there a button I hit or a setting in the camera that I set up without knowing.
please help
thanks.

Re: ZOOM on my DVX BROKEN!!!??!!!???!!!??

are you using the servo zoom? I guess so because that would be the only limiting factor for how far you could zoom. Try taking it out of servo zoom (switch on front of camera) and see if you can still move the lense by manually zooming. after that put it back into servo zoom and see what happens.

Re: ZOOM on my DVX BROKEN!!!??!!!???!!!??

Did that, I put it in manual zoom and it zooms in and out all the way. Then I put it back in Servo and it still only zooms in half way of what it usually does.

have you tried both the top handle zoom and the rocker zoom?

It's time you take it to a doctor. Make sure you have warranty. Sorry to hear that.

Mike, Sorry to hear about your problem.  I found this place in MD -- they're authorized and it's close enough to drive out to:

Specialized Communication
andrewh@spec-comm.com

1.800.359.1858 or 301.790.0103

Andrew can help you out.

I broke my camera back in the Fall and Andrew fixed it real quick.

Re: ZOOM on my DVX BROKEN!!!??!!!???!!!??

are they authorized for repair or just for resale? when i 1st got my dvx the firewire shorted out and BH wouldnt take it back cause i had already taped a couple of hours ( LAME ) but anyways...the only service center near me Frederick MD, was in PA and it was called "Electronic Service Center" they are listed on panasonics site, so they are definatly an authorized repair center, and they did an excellent job on my camera, and as long as the parts are instock you will have a quick turn around...

So in summary, dont send it out unless its to an Authorized Repair Facility for Panasonic....
