zoom into preview pane

Hey Everyone,

I'm a new user to Vegas and there are a few little things I am still getting my head around.

This seems like a really easy question but one that I can not find an answer to.

Is there a way that I can zoom into the preview pane? I am editing 1080p footage on a 1050 monitor so I can't view the footage at native resolution.

I would like to zoom into certain areas of the picture, particularly looking for shadow details and blown out highlights while analyzing footage as well as grading. So I am not talking about pan and scan just a simple zoom.

I am sure this must be possible but it seems like it's not.

The other thing that I was wondering is if it was possible to put something like Zebra's on the footage to identify areas that are simply clipped white, or clipped blacks?

Thanks

I am guessing by the lack of replies that it's a stupid question and that zooming the preview pane is as obvious and as easy as pressing plus or scrolling on the scroll wheel, or that it's impossible.

You can't really zoom in the preview window per say, but you can use the pan/crop to check things out, just reset it when you're done

There are no zebras; NLEs don't typically have those. But the waveform monitor is much better tool for that kind of thing anyway.

Cheers,

Yeah I figured that Pan and Crop would be the way to go. I guess I just wanted to get a good idea of how colors were coming out of the light and dark areas as I adjust the brightness and contrast. Also important for color correction.
