Right now im using a rode vmp with my gh4 , ive been thinkin bout getting the h5 soon, are the audio files syncd up with the video ? or is it a seperate sd card an all that an ill have to do that in post? is it difficult?

What is it for, how do you intend to use it?

Usually I'd strongly recommend the Tascam DR60D mk2 instead as it is vastly better value.

And yes, normally people will do dual system sound in this situation and record it separately on an SD card in the recorder. But you can also output it to the camera as well if it has a 3.5mm jack or similar.

I usually use it for automotive stuff, how is the tascam better? its alot bigger dont really like that. So if I connect the H5 to the gh4 like that it would be synced up?

NO. You can feed through to the camera and that will be in sync, but it's not going to be better than going direct into the camera. The "better" sound is on the H5 which you would have to sync in post.

I take it you are still going to be using the VMP mounted on the camera? If so I don't see a lot of upside to not going direct to the camera. If you get the zoom it will probably be more useful as a separate recorder for picking up FX and such.
