Zoom H4n Power plug

I'm having a total nightmare at the moment, shouting, swearing, the lot. Nearly threw my Zoom H4n at a wall but managed to remember it cost over £200 and kept calm.

I have a Lanparte camera rig and I'm trying to use the power-pinch to power the Zoom.

However, it has an INSANE plug size on it. Maplin don't make an adapter. In fact, an adapter doesn't even exist. I tried CPC in Preston, who stock every plug made by man, and they said an adapter isn't even made.

So I need help.

I've read online that the Zoom power jack is a 1.7 ID and a 4mm OD. I have a 1.7mm jack from Maplin, it doesn't fit. The outside diameter is 4.75mm, but that makes no sense as it fits in the hole, the pin just won't fit into the plug.

This is making me so angry. I have filming work to do this weekend and do not want to be having to lug around tons of AA batteries, not when I spent over £400 on a power-pinch and battery.

I still haven't worked out how to power the camera either...
 
Check danmccomb site his seems to be working ok.
or
1.Cut the one which came with the power adapter and use it
2.Modify the AA battery compartment by making a dummy which fits the compatment with the two terminals wired to connect your external battery.
 
Found a plug which is the right size. Thanks guys.

I was going to go for the "chop the plug off the adapter" route but glad I didn't have to or it would have meant buying another adapter.
 
Hey there binary could you tell me what adapter you found that would work? I'm having the same issue :(
