zoom h4n bleed from channel 1 and 2

So I conducted some tests

and found that there is a bleed from the two channels on the zoom h4n...at least for me.

wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I basically took 2 lavs and put them in two separate rooms. I put the zoom in stereo recording mode on the two lavs (also did it in 4 channel with the same results on the two input channels)

I recorded and turned the tv on in both rooms and then turned one off in one room then turned it back on and went to the other room and did the same thing.

brought the audio into final cut pro and listened to both tracks. when the tv was off in one room it was still hearing the audio from the other room and vice versa. I contacted the people at zoom about this and they haven't gotten back to me

to make sure there wasn't something strange going on I did the exact same test on my hvx 200 plugged into the 2 channels on the camera and there was no bleed happening. I feel strongly that it is the zoom h4n 2 input channels.

...it seems to me that the two audio input tracks on the zoom h4n are not properly shielded and it is causing the slight bleed. I just found this to be an issue....wondering if I did something wrong and if anyone else has experienced this?

let me know

yup i have problems with mine too. i haven't tried your test to see if i have the exact same problem yet but what i do have is strange too. I'll set the H4N to record on line level only. i do this for both channels. then ill start recording the signal and i can see that its working by checking the levels on the LCD screen but what i don't get is that when the signal from the line level stops, it still recording sound and i think its recording it from the mics even though the mics are not on. if i hold the H4N in my hand with nothing connected to it and set it to record only on the line level, i can say something out loud and the H4N will pick it up. it records the sound on a lower db level but it still is recording something when it shouldn't.
