a small side-product of our small Sony NEX rig... Nothing revolutionary, but it works pretty well. Milled from POM plastic, pretty durable, two of them mounted on one rod can be used for longer shotgun microphones. We will be selling these for a few (like 10-15) Euro starting in Feburary, but if someone wants a drawing or G code for CNC mill, I can put them up for download. We also have first drawings for a more compact design, also usable for larger H2 and H4, where the dampening rubber elements are located underneath the recorder and the recorder can be quickly detached from the mount.

I have also modified my H1 by adding a connector for remote control and remote REC light. This is a little tricky, since there are no suitable soldering pads on the PCB and the wires for external trigger have to be soldered directly onto contact areas that are used by the built-in switch. But with some care, it can be done in such a way, that the original rec button remains fully functional.

any chance you have pictures from inside the zoom? I like the idea of a remote trigger. The way i use mine that could be very helpful

No, but I will be modifying another one in a week or two, so I will take some pictures. It is quite nice inside and the only problem is really the need to solder to the contacts.

When you do could you also put up a picture of your remote? I was hoping to tie this remote in with another remote for my d600 so that i have a single trigger button on the handle of my rig. I already have the wiring for the d600 trigger down without a problem. I just need to see if the wiring for the zoom trigger will work together.

I am using a simple push button as remote. It is mounted separately from the video REC button. Next version of my IR remote will have an output contact for triggering the external recorder, but I am not there yet.
