Zoom F8 early review

Jose Frias from Mixelius posted an initial review of the Zoom F8, after he tested it at Gotham Sound: http://mixeli.us/technology/zoom-f8/ The pres seem to be on par with the higher end units, but it's missing a few pro features, like no line/mic switches on xlr inputs :/

I know Jose and would trust his opinion. I would do about the same test, comparing the sound to a 744 for reference.
PS, I'm sure there will soon be many YouTube reviews from nitwits who don't know sh*it from shinola.

ha ha yeah certainly.. Yeah I think it was a very objective review. what do you think about the features/lack of some key features? I'm really encouraged by the sound quality, but the line/mic thing is a very weird oversight...

I'll be doing a very simple basic test when my unit arrives this week.
Audio/sound is not my forte.

Little things like the Mic/Line thing will drive me crazy. When I first saw the F8, I automatically thought, what did they do it get it that cheap? I love physical buttons.

Had to laugh at this "unboxing video" from Zoom and no doubt thousands of DSLR users may be calling them as to why they are always in shot trying to use the thing when their DSLR is mounted on the top as per in the video ? :2vrolijk_08:
