Zoom F2 paired with Sennheiser G3 Xmtr

I bought a Zoom F2 recorder to pair with my G3 Sennheiser wireless transmitter. The Zoom F2 has an output that can be set using the software provided. I set it up with a Tram on the input and it records well, good quality sound. I patch the output to the input of my Sennheiser G3 Transmitter and it sounds terrible. I have tried a number of settings on both sides of the fence and I have to be missing something. So is anyone out there doing this and if so would you mind sharing your settings or some advice? Thanks

Without knowing anything about the F2, my guess is the F2 is outputting a line level and you are putting it into the mic input of the G3 transmitter. The G3 has a line input (ring) and mic input (tip).
 
Ground the unused input to the sleeve per Sennheiser instructions.
