Zoom F1-LP Field Recorder vs Tascam DR-05

After doing some tests and from general usage and observation, I realize I get much better sound quality with a lav using my old trusty DR-05 than with my twice-as-expensive + recently released F1, even with similar settings and minimal processing. The form factor is a big positive, but not enough to justify the lesser quality. Anyone else have an F1 they're disappointed with? Maybe I got a bad copy?:undecided

Any chance to post a comparison recording from the old and new setup...? I've used my F1 for some event recording and have been happy with the results...mostly crowd noise, but will be using it during a graduation ceremony next week...recording at one of the podium's setup on the stage...so hoping to get clear audio of the speakers...

What are you hearing that you don't like...?
