Zoom effect on photos in FCP??

I am doing a short and there are 2 photos which I am looking to have a zoom effect on both of them. One I would like it to zoom out and the other either zoom in or pan left or right. I don't know if there is an effect in Final Cut, but does anyone know how I can achieve this with a smooth zoom? I tried something in iPhoto, but it zooms from the wrong place. What should I do and if you can't do this in FCP, what kind of a program do I need?

You can do this in FCP by keyframing and using the "Scale" and "Center" properties under the motion tab for a particular clip. However, this is much easily done by dropping the photo onto your timeline, right clicking on it and selecting "Send to Motion".

Once in motion, you can add a camera, and dolly the camera in to the photo in 3D space. There's a really good tutorial showing all the options built in to FCP and Motion -- by Ken Burns at http://www.rippletraining.com/movies/Free%20Downloads/motion_kburns_redux_960.mov

First, set the duration of your images in the browser. Second, drag them into the timeline. Double click on the first image so that it pops up in the Canvas. Be sure to have the Image + Wireframe activated (over the Canvas, click the button on the right and select Image + Wireframe). Then zoom/pan/whatever you wanna do to where the animation will be starting. Be sure that the playhead is at the first frame on the picture. Hit Control + K, this adds a keyframe. Then move the playhead to the end of the image and hit Control + K again. Now zoom/pan/whatever to where the animation will end. Repeat for your second picture :)
