Zoom Buddy anyone tried one?

Thinking about getting one since they are only $80 way cheaper then a Varizoom one. Does anyone here have one or have used one I would like to get some insight about this product.

That looks alot like the DIY one I saw in an article on here a while back. I am sure it works ok, however, you might not get the level of control you would with a varizoom or bogen controller.

I was thinking the same thing. I think bena called his something else though.

People loved his design, and it was very similar to that. Though I can only vouch for my varizoom, which is great. Though you don't use a zoom controller as much as you think you might.

I built one from the DIY instructions on this site and it works great. It ended up costing me about $15. They are very easy to make and use. If you have the ability make it yourself, if not the zoom budy is for you - a lot more affordable then the varizoom. And from what I understand they do the same thing. (Although I've never used the varizoom).
