Inspired by another thread, and not wanting to butcher it, I made a new post here.
Personally, I am saddened by the horrible use of the zombie. I am! I look at ****-hole movies that prey on the Zombie aspect and I weep with tearful mourning.
The 28 days/weeks/months series is brilliant. Granted, I am a Danny Boyle fan, but this series is a jewel in a ****-hole genre.
Yes, the Dawn remake was good, but when compared to the character depth and rich story of the 28s, it fails. It can be said that 28 Days Later was actually to show the conflict of the soldiers and the lead and the way man-kind can devolve in such a scenario with a zombie backdrop, but personally, I loved it.
The further addage of 28 Weeks was phenomenal. I love the way in which they're attempting to repopulate, and the chaos theory goes into play. The addition of the carrier was awesome, and the swift military response was equally pleasing. Suddenly, your protags weren't only on the run from zombies (ragers) but also from normal people!
Like I said above, I hate that you can't even mention the word Zombie in the same sentence as the word movie without people rolling eyes. **** movies scar people in regards to the genre and screw those of us with gnarly concepts for genre reinvention.
What do you think?
