Anyone else gonna edit together a longer-than-5 minute-version? I shot alot mroe than could be squeezed into the 5 min limit. Perhaps we can all share the new edits as they roll in...
 
I might work on reshooting a longer version of my script in a few months. We'll see. My girlfriend just started writing a feature-length slasher movie, so that might be one of the next projects I do.

When you watch 'The Dark Princess', you'll see my answer (definitely yes). I'd like to keep it under ten minutes, though. The script has only six pages, but about 90% of it is action, no dialog, so it tends to run a little longer than a minute/page.
 
nice. I have 3 more scenes written for mine that have yet to be shot....I'd like it to run ~20 - 30 min in complete form.
 
That was considered from the beginning. I have some reshoots and a few small scenes to shoot. But when all is said and done I will probably have around 11 hours of footage (since I only have 3 tapes left), I ended the competition shoot with 8 hours shot. Hoping...wait, praying that I can get it done by Halloween to show it. It is going to be rough.
 
We had three scenes we had to cut, but we're planning to restore them for a slightly longer festival version. I'm not sure if we'll get it ready in time to submit for the official DVD, but we're working on it!
 
I wrote it to be under 5 minutes, I shot it to be under 5 minutes, and my TRT is 04:59.

The cut you see is the cut you'll get, sans a few MINOR effects things.
 
ours is definately chopped down quite a bit. we are very new to making movies (i.e. this is our first one) and we got a bit carried away. we will be making our "director's cut" to put on a dvd along with full special features for everyone involved in the production. as for the festival dvd we will be submitting our 5 minute version with credits added only and a much shorter bts. it killed us because we had to lose about 3 scenes that we were pretty proud of. live and learn! i can't wait to cut together the long version though....
