ZOE-DVXL vs. varizoom controllers

I have the varizoom controller but find it hard to find the sweet spot for starting/ending zooms. Anyone have experience with the Zoe-DVXL zoom control? I think cost is about the same.

I have the Varizoom and have been told by Zoe users that the Zoe is superior. I went the Varizoom strictly on the basis of cost.

I'm using the ZOE and am very happy with it, but I still get a slight jerk at the start of zooms (not so much at the end). I presume that will be the case with any inexpensive zoom controller.

The jerkiness is not the controller, it's the DVX/HVX's finite set of 3 zoom speeds....

That said, I find the Manfrotto 522P gives me the best feel and control...
