To those of you asking for video of Zero Gravity thanks for your patience.

I threw this quick and informal video demo together for the DVXuser community.

Zero Gravity is doing well and it made the cover of DV magazine this month so of course we are all very pleased here at VariZoom.

Two links below will take you to the quick video just created. They may take a minute to load.

Thanks for watching.

Tom,

Slashback

Slashback

Alfred,

I am not sure I understand what you are describing when you say slash back. If you are trying to get a measure on functionalilty on the unit when you are zoomed in very close then I think you need to just try it.

It is as practical as any manual head but is more versatile and has some advantages by design.

VariZoom will be exhibiting at both Dv Expo and HD Expolate oct and early Nov.

Several people have thought of this already. The Cartoni Lambda, Ronford Baker Fluid 7 and Weaver-Steadman have all been around for years.

VariZoom has just created a lighter-weight product for the prosumer video industry that mimics larger, more expensive heads found in the film industry.

The price point is definitely nice- as long as the motion is smooth I think this will be a very successful product.

Tom this looks like a very intriguing product and I hope to see one in person. I hope you won't be offended but I have to point out why a few marketing issues that continue to amaze me and that is why do people in the video industry have the worse video demos ?

You have a brand new product which is also a new concept for traditional fluid head owners and yet you do not show any cut away tight shots of the product. There is no demonstration on how to setup this up any other details. Remember assume no one knows anything about you, your company or your products and go from there.

Today bandwidth in the US is plentiful for most customers especially in this industry so high def and hi-res images are a must to show your product in the best possible light.
You appear to be surrounded by tens of thousands of dollars of video gear and a yet an awful low quality Youtube video is used to show off what appears to be a great product.

Hope you don't mind the critic on the video, as far as the product it looks like a fantastic design and I can see plenty of need for one right now.

VariZoom Video

Hi Lee,

What you saw was a one take video with no script (obviously) but although it is not a slick video for many, that order daily, it was sufficient.

I have seen some very slick product videos but mine was never intended to be anything but a quick first look for the DVXUSER's

We are definitely due to make some slick productions. We actually have a new stabilizers instruction video coming that I think will be pretty good.

We actually shot some video today with our new ZG Rig.

Tom, thanks for taking the time to comment and I know you guys will do a great job. This looks like a very cool product and deserves to be shown in the best possible light.

Question: Where do you see this product positioned ? In other words do you see this as a second head for most users or do you see this being sold to users who are looking for a new tripod head ?

Thanks again,

Lee

I also have a question... I see that this will support up to 15 pounds. What size cameras will fit on this head? Will a full size ENG camera work such as my HPX-500 or is it only fitting for small to mid size cameras?

Thanks
Kit

ENG camera on ZG Rig

ENG camera on ZG Rig

The current ZG is ideal for mini Dv HD cameras largest being an XL1 or in that size range. We are working on an ENG version now..
