Hello,
I will be producing a ducumentary in Nepal this November so I bought an HVX200 and a M2 adapter.
I need to buy a good set of lenses.
I was looking at the Zeiss series:

- 25mm f2.8 (787$)
- 50mm f1.4 (492$)
- 85mm f1.4 (984$)

Has anyone used these lenses before? are they worth the price?

Thanks

i have a bunch of the original c/y zeiss lenses and i love them. The ones you are talking about are copies of these.
Just so u know they rotate about twice as far as other lenses.
This is a plus and a negative.
pro: It make critical focusing easier for set up shots and racks are always smooth.
cons: you cant do super fast (kubrick) racks. cant really find used ones.(at least the nikon Fmount versions)

forgive me for my ignorance but what are racks?

thoes are GREAT lenses.

DAle are they Nikon mount? im gonna buy a Nikon mount for my Sgpro, thinking of investing thoes Zeiss'..... Drool....

nah, i have the c/y mount zeiss. (c/y = contax yashica) Zeiss used to make cameras, that devision was call contax. I love contax (there design is amazing, you saw my rtsIII) but they went out of business. (you can find them used/sometimes new) The F mount zeiss lenses are copies of the c/y versions. Sgpro is the only 35mm adapter that has a contax mount. With the others u have to get a contax-eos adapter.

the other plus about c/y zeiss lenses is that they are alot more of them:
they have a 16, 18, 21, 25, 28, 35, 45, 50, 60macro, 85, 100macro, 135, 180, 200, and a mirror 500
and zooms, only bad thing is there zoom lenses are on the slow side and some lenses are hard to find.

Any idea how these Zeiss SLR lenses compare to PL mount Zeiss Digiprimes? I know the digis are way more money, but why?

never used a digiprime. I have used L series canon zoom lenses on my slr and the zeisses are sharper with better bokeh.

Thanks for your help!
I Just ordered the lenses.
I will post a clip after I get my M2 setup.
