zd8000 and P2 cards?

I have the opportunity to get a HP zd8000 notebook cheaps and from what I can see in pictures of it, it looks like there are slots for P2 cards?....Anyone own one that could tell me if that's the case.

Thnx

SD

SM
MMC
MS/Pro media

No mention of P2....guess it doesn't take them

I have a ZD7000 and we just got a ZD8000 in the office. I had the opportunity to test em both out today and P2 cards work fine in both of them.

Hey Jeff.....I am wondering what screen res your ZD7000 is? I have an opportunity to pass my ZD7000 to another user and keep the ZD8000 for myself but the LCD ont the 8000 is only 1440X900. On my ZD7000 the res is 1680x1050. I am having a hard time goving up the screen real estate even though the zd8000 is a little better machine. What would you do?

Thanks

My ZD7K was one of the very first off the assembly line and has the original 1440x900 screen. :) I had a ZD8K for a while with the nicer 1680x1050 BrightView screen, but sold it in favor of a more compact/mobile notebook. I kept the ZD7K over the 8K because of two reasons... One, the resale value on the 7K was/is near nothing... Everyone thinks they're worthless because the 8K is newer. And Two, the 8K has the newer Prescott core P4, which draws more power, runs hotter and is somewhat less efficeint at a lot of tasks vs. the Northwood P4 in the ZD7K. I do miss the larger screen and better graphics chip of the 8K, but I don't do gaming or serious 3D work on it, so it's not too bad.

If you've never stopped by the unofficial ZD7K/8K forums, www.zd7000forums.com , you should do so. You can find everything you'll ever want to know about these notebooks there and then some. I don't go to the forums much anymore due to time constraints and I think I've served my purpose there quite well... I'm still one of the moderators though and go under my other screen name (DarkScience).
