i have been looking at various rod suports for my hvx+SGpro+monitor setup and alomost everything affordable feels crap. the zacuto gear looks ROCK SOLID.

just wondering if any of you out there are using their gear and can tell me if the usability balances out their nearly extortionate prices???

thanks - wG

The Zacuto gear is top notch and their sales and support are great. Yes, their pricing is very high. I went for their gear because it looked better than anything else on the market, and now that I've used their system for a month I believe that I made the correct choice.

I'm using their baseplate, rods , double mount, redplate, shoulder pad and a few other bits and pieces. I'm hanging a Noga arm off the rig to hold an external monitor, have a couple of wireless receivers on the rear, a FF and mattebox on the front and use an Anton Bauer Trimpac battery to power the camera and external monitor. All of this is hanging off the Zacuto rig and the system carries all the weight very solidly.... and it's a lot of weight at 20 lbs total.
I didn't buy their handgrips because they looked too long and unwieldy (plus they're $750) so I'm fitting Cavision grips on the front. They're compact and a lot cheaper at $200. The grips are due to arrive tomorrow. If anyone's interested to hear how they fit the system, I'll post an update once I've stuck 'em on.

Best,

Simon.
