For Danny, Jarred and others who have asked
Got the Zacuto rig this afternoon but didn't get around to assembling it until almost 10 pm. It is one solid piece of gear, and it did take a bit of aligning, tweaking etc, But that baseplate is amazing.
Tested on DVRig Pro. I did not add the back extension rods and the back mount for the AB battery and Noga arm.
It will take me a few tries to balance it, but I can say that it did work. It put about maximum weight on the spring, as I think Danny believed, but it could be used. A stronger spring would help. For my testing purposes and for a few pick up shots, it would be fine. Danny, if you intend to market the DVRig Pro to be used with a heavy baseplate and matte box like Zacuto, I would suggest a stronger spring.
But it does look impressive.
