I have a feeling they are actually...probably not planning on selling too many of these but why not throw it up there for fun.

I can't wait for the counter weights for the back to come out, lol

Cheers

Hey - at $300 I think it might be the cheapest thing they sell.
Doesn't look like they're kidding at all.

[Jeff Anderson]

And the fact that they are releasing a less expensive consumer version... interesting... I'm all for small odd cameras and the DSLR rigs, but this one is a bit much for me...

[Danwreid]

I laughed so hard when I saw this, give them a few months I am sure they will have something for flip cameras

[hoarp001]

it is a strange looking device, but maybe they are right. Just about every crew member in the world has an iPhone, and maybe we will see a lot more useful behind the scenes shots on youtube now because of the 3Gs. Would be good?

I am quite impressed with the image quality from the phone on the zacuto demo video....

[Huy Vu]

So where can I put a mattebox on that thing?

[Spartacus]

I believe it´s just some marketing gag, that even if taken dead serious will only generate more traffic and publicity for them and even generate sales...!
The cool thing about the iPhone video recording is, that you just have it available anytime (well as long as you bring your mobile;o) ) and rigging it up rather complicates things, even for BTS stuff...

A live keyer from dvgarage for the iPhone would be nice though hehehe

Purchased!!! No, actually I didn't because the certificate couldn't be verified by my browser. Is this legit??? I will buy it as a gag gift if it is. Yup, it's an expensive gag gift, but my ex has a birthday coming up.

Please tell me it's not one of these: http://www.visualproducts.com/storeProductDetail02.asp?productID=653&Cat=3&Cat2=42

Those of us who know zacuto are increasingly convinced that it is not a marketing gag

Just tried ordering again, got through checkout, then my card was declined. Got message "Please call Becky at Zacuto 312-***-**** ext. *** and she will take your credit card information over the phone." (numbers deleted by me...)

Have to try again during normal biz hours I guess. I just made a purchase from them 2 weeks ago with no problem, same with past purchases. No clue what the problem is with this particular item...
