They did keep the temps down! but pretty light on the details. Hubris? I don't see it that way. The camera was running too hot, so they cooled it with an add on that would never be saleable from the manufacturer. No different than putting a watercooler on a CPU which is running too hot imho. They did not "overclock" the camera per se like the computing world. Hubris would be running the camera at 16k and expecting the thing to function properly.
But with nearly 700,000 views, and close to 3,500 comments, I would say they succeeded with their objective.
LTT makes so much money from traffic and sponsors that this is not much of a risk for them. They also disassembled a RED down to it's smallest parts, then reassembled it.
These videos are a relatively easy, low risk/hire reward for them. Amazing that some outlets have that much traffic but they do.
Stupid? You bet. Kudos to them for having fun doing stupid things and making a living at it. It's a wonderful world where one no longer has to slog it out to make a living.
It’s kind of like taking a Toyota Camry into a NASCAR race. It’s a good design, but they have to mod it to get the most out of it. What i’m saying is, cameras are like cars. It’s about cars. Cars guys. Cars.
