Youtube Messes Up My Audio

I did a short and the sound is great - I burned a DVD and it sounds good on TV, as well.

But I uploaded the file onto Youtube and the sound stinks - some dialogue echoes, especially when listening VIA headphones.

I did some research, which stated I should have ALL SOUNDS at -3 tops, so I watched my mixer and made appropriate changes. But there are still problem spots.

Does anyone have a solution/advice? Many thanks!

I rendered the audio in mono and made everything -3 or less on the mixer. Thought I'd post in case anybody else ran into the same problem...

For whatever reason, my clips aren’t very loud in my Vegas timeline. I’ve raised each audio track as much as I could (but not to the point of anything going above 0 on the mixer), but it hardly seems loud enough.

Yet some Youtube videos have tons of sound (so much that one almost has the volume off it's so loud)!
