Just wanted to get some feedback on a recent Voss spec ad I shot .. We used the red epic and some older 80's Zeiss Superspeeds
thoughts? - anything you'd do differently? (do keep in mind this was very low budget)
Thanks!

Its awesome. Great cinematography overall with the camera moves & grading. I like that there was some mixture of footage in the store and in the club just to get some opposing scene contrast going..

For the darker club scenes how did you find lighting for them or did you just crank up the ISO in post and make it work?

Cheers,

Some shots in the supermarket look "more expensive" then another - for instance i like the shots of him pulling out the water but some CU are just too flat. The nightclub sequence - there really is no way around that you had 5 extras struggling to make the club look fun - moreover you could have done more with the lights. Right now you have two color pallets going on in night club: yellow and red and blue & red = they give 2 distinctly different vibes: one of a dingy speakeasy another of a young hip nightclub. Also direction in that part is shaky. All there was is a smooth, hair move and water pouring - really? That's all people do in nightclubs? Someone needs to go out more. This is also where the concept falls flat. So the idea is, i assume, you can have as much fun in a night club drinking water as alcohol... really? You are not convincing me - especially since the dude is only fantasizing it.

Thanks for checkin it out, glad you liked the photography . The club booth scenes were lit artificial w/ different overhead sources , tried to make it look as "Non lit" as possible .. the epic does well in darker scenes

Hey Patryk, thanks for the critique, I def agree with you that alot of the closeups in the convenient store next to the fridges could have been a little
better - making the decisions on what to spend time lighting the most with the time your given is always fun :) but i do agree i could have beauty lit those a little nicer
