Your hero doesn't always need to arc!

Sometimes the Hero does not arch-- but only if he's an established character, i.e. James Bond.

Take Arnold in Commando. EVERYONE around him archs, although he does not.

The conclusion is that total arch is proportional to the Hero's participation.
 
Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time getting involved in written conversations about writing with people who write really poorly...
