Your favorite...?

I've read the posts asking for your favorite film.

I've read the posts asking for your favorite director.

But on a DVX 100 forum, there is one question that should be rated as most important.....

Who is your favorite director of photography or cinematographer.

Re: Your favorite...?

Jeff Cronenweth comes to mind. Fight Club, Se7en, One Hour Photo...

Re: Your favorite...?

Thats a good question; and hard. I thought about this and decided that although their styles are different they all seem to pay special attention to the light and dark (Chiaroscuro).

I like the following DP's (and particualry for the films following the name):

Darius Khondji
Se7en, The Beach, Panic Room

Gordon Willis
Godfather 1 and 2

Lance Acord
Lost in Translation
Adaptation
Being John Malkovich

Rodrigo Prieto
21 Grams
Amores perros
Original Sin

John Mathieson
Gladiator
Matchstick Men

And the winner is:

Janusz Kaminski
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
Amistad
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
The Terminal
Catch Me If You Can
Minority Report
