Your dual core comp. might not be taking advantage of both cores fully.....

I don't know if this is old news to most of you, but it is news to me today, so I wanted to pass it along. Apparently, many of the brand name comps. are not configured properly, and do not fully take advantage of both cores on dual core machines (amd and intel). Sony, gateway, and others. There is a link below to the sight I found the info on. The info about how to fix it is towards the bottom of the page, which also includes another link to a forum where the issue is discussed as well, and how to fix it. It is a different fix for amd than for intel. It is mostly a reg edit. Check it out.

Hope it is helpful

That would certainly be unfortunate if someone's PC was not set to use both cores.

Do most laptops come confirgured to harvest power from both?

Laptops aren't right either. the info is tagged on the bottom of an article talking about the new batch of core 2 duo laptops/notebooks. Someone went to various stores and found that almost none of them were, if I remember correctly.

Check it out.
