You simply cannot believe how much crap you have until you have to move....

I'm moving at the end of the month into a bigger place which will actually give me a studio to work in (or at least it will once I fit it out). Right now I live in a one bedroom apartment with a separate storage room.

So far I'm up to fifty-six (56) boxes....

And I'm about two thirds done with the apartment, haven't touched the storage room....

I live alone....

I'm not a packrat, I throw tons of stuff out, all the time....

Fifty-six boxes and I'm still packing....

congrats on the move!
it will be totally worth it. I love-hate moving. it does remind you of all the things you wasted your time on in life..(useless clothing, lame trinkets, impulse buys, etc.). It also gives you a new start.

I started my business in the living room of a one-bedroom apartment. When my boyfriend was tripping over the crane in the bedroom, I began to think it was time to move out and move on... [the equipment, not my BF :) ]

why not do a time lapse or something? would be neat. at least give us a pict of your most hellish moment..

good luck

You should have used bigger boxes.

LOL! I tried that for some things, but a big box of books is REALLY heavy. So fifteen boxes of books... Four Boxes of DVDs (ya know, I never realized I had that much porn...)

:)

We move into our new house in a few weeks, there are boxes everywhere. The thought of counting them just scares me. Althought after dozens of moves in my life, this is my first movers assisted move. I promised the wife right after we moved our (mine) large tube TV. The bill is going to hurt, but my back has been singing for weeks.

.. i just moved at the beginning of the month.. were somewhat minimalists, but weve found enough odd stuff to declare it garage sale time.

I know you said you're not a "pack rat" but you got to throw your crap out. Moving is the best time to get rid of the "storage" stuff you never see or never use (and never will, I bet.) Other then the DVDs and books, (which you could always sell the ones you don't care about anymore!) you just need to take the opportunity to toss out all that crap.

Sorry for channeling my wife here, she's on a mission to organize everyone she knows and it kinda stuck a little.

..when i was unpacking some stuff I found an original ( i think its a sylvania..) sungun with mounting rod for film camera. still in box with papers.. prbably not worth much , but sort of interesting none the less.
