Hey everyone-

This is my first post here on DVXuser. So far, I am excited to be a part of it. Hopefully i can learn a lot about my new beautiful camera!

I got my DVX100a just last week, along with a Pelican waterproof hard-case. It is a brilliant camera, but I still have a lot to learn I think! I spent this summer mowing lawns and I passed my mark a few weeks ago. As a sophomore in high school, I hope to get an early start to my career, which will be in some form of film, be it writing, directing, scoring, etc.

Thanks!

Start early - look at me, I'm fat, balding, and I don't have a job. The other day, I vomited blood for no reason. My kidneys are failing, I'm blind in one eye (I used to be a pirate) and I wear an eyepatch, which kicks ass. But still ... - **** man, you'll be glad you made this decision when you're my age (16)

Yeah, start early. Even though I am only 18 I regret messing around with camera's the "wrong" way in the beginning which includes videotaping: bums, unsuspecting Game-Crazy workers, people in distress asking bums for ciggerettes, myself skateboarding, a certain somebody tying sausages to their fingers and whacking peoples doors hoping they will give you free sausages when you ask, more bums, school bus drivers, kids named Jimmy that didn't want to be recorded unknowing in the end you used his footage for your own Talking Heads music video, "psycho killer" music video(another Talking Heads track), Incino Man music videos ect... You know what I mean, do whatever is possilble to advance yourself. But the good thing for me is that two-years later I know what I want to do and am in the right direction. Here's to a new DVXuser  (it's soda, I dont drink liquor :))

hahah, welcome man, good your starting early, I started messing around with camcorders at the age of 16. I recorded my dad everynight as he came home wasted, I did this for 2 years, at the end of each month, I'd show him the tape, and see what he remembers and what he doesn't, lol..got a good laugh out of it.

My point, do what you have to, go record anything outside, as long as you've got that camera in your hand and your filming, and editing.

Terry, that avatar, I saw that episode I think when hes performing with the rest of the cast, you have any idea where I can download that one clip at ? I think to me that's the funniest SNL episode, atleast from what I've seen so far.
