YN900 fan?

Is anyone using the YN900's? I have disabled the fan on my YN600's by jamming it with a toothpick and as long as I don't use those plastic diffusers right in front of the bulbs it is not a problem. I'd like to get a couple of 900's but am concerned about whether the fan will become an issue.

Also anyone using the 3200-5600 ones? First how is the color temp at 3200? I know it looks good at daylight.
2nd question: I've avoided them because you have separate dimmers for daylight and tungsten bulbs so it seems like it would be tricky to maintain color temp while dimming and that would slow you down. So far I just use gels. Any opinions about that?

Thanks

That what you're doing could damage the fan. I'd recommend you either unplug it internally or replace it Noctua, or Scythe fans. IIRC The fan on the YN900 is 40mm and the best IMO is Notcua and Scythe for that size.

I myself bought the YN300 Daylight only since wanted the extra throw and brightness rather than the convince of color mixing or switching on the fly. I always carry the CTO in my back pocket or bag.

So is the fan for the yn900 (or 600) for that matter indeed replaceable? I've read that some units won't work when they don't detect "they're" fan. Anyone actually done a fan replacement on one of these?
