Ye Olde Cinetactics Matteblox

Alright, so I got the cinetactics matteblox with a used DVX package i purchased. Cheapo: yes, it was like $140 with an oversized flag included. After searching for what people have had to say about it, the consensus seems to be: you get what you pay for. That's fine, but it came with the package and I have it, so I want to at least get the most out of it.

So, for those of you who have/had it, how did you work with filters? I don't have the filter holder, but was thinking about buying one for it since that's is one of the main points of a matte box. I understand they don't rotate, but can you get satisfiing results with 4x4 filters and the fabric holder? Should I just use screw on filters? What is the point of the slim adaptor? ( http://cinetactics.com/mb-s72.php ) Won't screw on filters fit on to the regular 72mm adaptor (which i have)? I have a .6 wide angle lense. Will this give me vignetting?

I know... a lot of questions, but I am in need of answers. Basically, it all boils down to: I have a matteblox. I know it isn't close to the best matte box solution, but I have it and want to get the best results i can possibly achieve from it. Can i get some love from the mattebloxers?

Thanks for the help.

Jim it is what it is and it ain't bad. It's not a $1600-$2500 Matt box but it works beautifully for the price, Italso works fine with filters. The only compromize is with rotational filiters like a polarizer. Except the limitations or spend the csah for the high end. product. I thinkl you find it quite adequite for filtering light and with the slim 72mm adabter you can attach a nd .6 fliter with out vignetting.
