XVID and dvsd codecs

Anybody use the XVID codec?

http://www.xvid.org

I have played with it and can get some high quality output. Trouble is that you have to use it's built in Configure dialog to tweak it. Are there any video editting/cropping programs which let you select an output codec and configure it?

Also, I have found documentation on the dvsd compression to be conspiculously non-existant. This is the codec Panasonic uses to create the DV-AVI files. Anyone know where I can get API or codec driver parameters for this codec? Or if it even has a built in configuration dialog?

Nobody has responded yet? Hmmmmm Give it time. If you question it, they will come.

Good luck!

Someone in another thread said they could select the output codec in Premier Pro (I think). So that answered one question. Now I just wonder if there is a "Configure" button available when you select a configurable codec in Premier Pro.

DIVX also has a nice codec for HD.

It is some of the highest quality stuff I have grabbed off the web. I think this codec is shunned because it is considered to be a hacked version of another codec.
