Any one know about this. I overheard a conversation today that led me to believe that XLR cable is shielded because it reverses the phase from input to output therefor loosing any rf interference. I didn't have time to get involved with the conversation and now feel like I may have misconstrued the whole thing. Anyone?

Re: xlr shielding?

So Oleg, are you saying that you have to physicaly change the properties of the cable to make what I overheard true?

Re: xlr shielding?

I just re-read you response, of course that's what your saying. Thanks for comment.

Re: xlr shielding?

the xlr is -connector , the cable is cable and if we are talking balance link that connect one point to another the there is a phasereverse betwin the signals which runing on each lead , so everu ham that comming from other sorses is rejected sines it had been inversed by fase the real signal is a-(-a) =2a , the ham is b-b=0 , that why it good to run balancing lines for long distances , for short the unbalance is good enouth ( short -is very short , 2 mitters maximum)
