i just found out that my uncle gave me a wireless mic with reciever however the input connector was like a lil phono jack plug in so i got a adapter that like takes the lil like 1/8 and turns it into one used by like most regular mix and then i bought a converter to go from that to xlr to plug into the dvx100a and i was wondering what settings and how to set them r needed to hear the mic and record it to video. i know the mic works because the reciever has a head phone jack which i used and could here the mic. so please please help.

Re: xlr lav mic help needed!!!

Make sure you have selected the proper input for the channel you are recording to.

That sounds like a lot of adapters. What brand of wireless system are you talking about?

btw, There *is* an audio forum here at DVXuser.com. :)

Re: xlr lav mic help needed!!!

Not sure I entirely follow what you are trying to do but different lavs require small millivolts of power to work. When you get one with xlr connector it will come with some power module. If it is for use with a wireless system then the connector is designed to take power from the transmitter to power the mic.

If the lavalier is not wired to work with a specific transmitter or use it's own power module it won't function.

Hope that helps :)

Re: xlr lav mic help needed!!!

Also if it works on 9 to 12 v phantom power and you supply it with 48v phantom power you will kill your mic.
