XLR cables

I just got the NTG-1 in kit with RODE 3m boompole which has no cable. I would appreciate any recommendations about what cable to get, is there something special for the boompole cable and how long it would be good, I guess the shorter the better but I still need to get some space from the boompole to the camera so I am not even sure whether I should not buy two instead of one cable.

ask matt stl to make you one , thats the best you can get , about length - it depends on your boom length , add aditional footage you will benear the camera if you work with out mixer , so something like aditional 6-8 feet would be good
no make 2 of these , since **** happens and connectors goes to hall when some one step you on your cable , it is good for tele lenses shotes as well when you have to go to your subject
so at least 15 meters ( 40 feet) when the 2 cables engaged

Thanks, Oleg, so one longer cable is better than 2 short ones. Then I guess I would need 3 meters cable for within the boompole (the RODE pole is 3 meters long) and then additional say - 3 meters, this amounts to around 20 feet or 25. How long do you think would take to matt stl to make one since I am just three weeks more in US and then I am leaving?

no 2 long enouth cables better then 1 to short , make 5 meter one for normal usage and another 10 meter when you need more length , both together you can be happy on almost every shot which include walking with the subjects when the camera is steady

ask him directly - if he have time he would do it as fast he swing the boom :-)

Agreed. I ordered one from Matt and it got here almost before I was done sending the PM. :) It's the best cable I've ever used.
