XLR cable questions

hey all, I have been searching the forums but can't quite fnd the exact answer I am looking for.

I just purchased an Oktava mk012, ktek kssm, Gitzo 3560 boom etc. I plan to get a SD mixpre soon. I just want to know what are the exact minimum cables I need? basically I need to go mic to mixer (or straight to camera) so I was going to get a '25 canara star quad. I pm'd Matt, is he still making his cables?
I also would like to have a cable to go from the mixpre to the camera, and I guess with a return to monitor what is going into the camera (HVX-200 mostly). Could somone link me to a good cable for this.

I know multiple cables and other accesories would also be nice, what should I look at adding when I can?

if there is a great cable thread already that can answer me, I'd love a link to that!

Thanks guys.

is your gitzo boom cabled? if so with the MixPre you will want to get a 5ft cable and then I'd get a 50ft. and a 25ft.
If you don't have the Mix pre I'd get a 25ft. and a 50ft.
And if you don't have the MixPre or a cabled pole I'd get a 40ft. and a 50ft.

For recording single-system using one boom mic and an SD MixPre: one 25' XLR (Canare Starquad, Neutric connectors), and a breakaway beta snake that terminates in 2xXLRf and a 1/8" stereo plug on the mixer end (Remote Audio CABETACFP33). Breakaway beta snakes are pricey, but they're awfully convenient.

You would be well advised to bring along an additional two 25' XLR's, as well as a 25' 1/8"m to 1/8"m stereo headphone cable. That way, you're covered for longer cable runs or the unexpected failure of a cable. You don't want someone rolling a heavy equipment case over your only mic cable.
