XLR adapters

I have a friend who has a mini camercorder and wants to use a mic with
XLR connections, though she can't connect it to her camera, she's thinking
there's an adapter. If there is an adapter, would it power a phantom power
adapter?

Beachtek makes a number of XLR adapters for consumer camcorders (ie. 2x XLR to unballanced 1/8" stereo jack), some of which also sport +48V Phantom power.

They're great products, and built like a tank (I've had one for years).
