xha1 60i convert to 24P (DVFilmaker or Just plain old Sony Vegas7)

I am having a difficult time here understanding a proper workflow.

I have the Canon XHA1 shooting 60i 1080. My goal is to convert it to 24 P.

Question: Why should I use DVFilmaker? I already have Sony Vegas 7.

Can't I just drop the 60i footage in a Vegas 7 24P 1080 timeline and then render it to 24P Cineform 2.5?

Doesn't Sony Vegas 7 convert 60i to 24P just as good if not better than DVFilmaker?

You can do it in Vegas, sure. It does a great job. But DVFilm Maker does do a better job.

Or you could cut out the middle man and just shoot 24F with your A1, unless you have a specific reason for needing to de-interlace.
