I read a thread at some point on this forum, recommending extrememusic.com for royalty-free music. I have signed-up three times for the site and never received the promised "response from one of our bad boys" with a user name and pw. :kali:

Does anyone use this site other than for listening to cool music? Would be nice to be able to dl. :furious3:

Yes, the music is supposed to be downloadable and, like freeplaymusic, it is licensable for certain uses. But you can't dl without logging on, and you can't log-on until they send you a user name and pw.

OK, I was just able to chat with a Live Rep on extrememusic.com. He explained t hat because of the nature of my work (event videography) I could not be granted access. However, if I found a song I liked they would be willing to license it for me. They say they mostly deal with large film companies. I understand, but I did suggest that they implement a practise of responding via email with the info that an attempted registree cannot be granted download access and why, rather than simply not responding. Otherwise, as I explained to him, the person is left wondering ... did my registration not go through? ... has this site been abandoned? ... is this a phish site and I should expect to begin receiving spam? Or any number of other worries. He agreed and stated he's "make a note of it."

Anyway, I'm waiting to hear from a licensing rep to find out their rates for licensing.
