I rather enjoy the style of effects and editing the pro wrestling company WWE puts into their shows. I am curious to how they are doing this exactly for my skills in editing and fx are novice.
What parts in particular? All the video work I do for people(mostly dance studios), are all WWE inspired. I recently the Raw opening (w/the quick best-of shots and playing w/the "Across the Nation" music) for a studio that does a lot of hip-hop choreography and their jaws dropped. I also did a video montage of one of lead female dancer, which was inspired by WWE video entrances(used Trish Stratus music in the video), and the girl was in tears because when asked me to make something out of all the video material, she couldnt believe how good it made her look(and believe me, she's damn fine already!!). Hell, my company logo is an inspired mix of the old WWF logo and the current WWE logo, and I have the "spotlight" effect go over it at the beginning of all my work, just like they do with the current WWE logo. I also put my logo in the lower left corner of the screen of all the videos I sell, just like WWE.
I think the WWE art/video editing department is totally better than every other sports programming out there, but it just doesnt get the recognizition it deserves because the media craps on pro wrestling. One the main editing guys recently left to become the main editor for TNA(Jeff Jarrett's promotion), and boy does it show!!
Ever notice how WWE's promo's for their storylines are always the same looking, well the same feel. The desaturated parts with reds and blues and the natural colors too? Probaly not the best description of it but it's been a while since I've seen them. Anyway, It was like that for a while, I havn't watched WWE, unfortunatly, in months.
