Anyone know a good site for WW2 weapons, props and costumes? Specifically I am trying to get a Kar98 and M1903-A4. I have found a few Kar98 Airsoft guns but they are all about $1000, I can pick up the real thing for half that.

Hi Matthew- one direction to look for help would be locating WWII reenacting groups near you. Here are a couple of links that may be prove helpful:

Reenacting Info main page: http://www.reenactor.net/main_htmls/ww2.html

subbed on that page is the organizational listing: http://www.reenactor.net/ww2/ww2_orgs.html

Historical Reenactment Society: http://www.worldwartwohrs.org/

I'm currently working to get a Viet Nam war theatrical production equipped, and my local guys have proven to be a lot of help, especially with some of the more esoteric stuff.

Good luck!

those are some high prices...
I briefly looked at getting some WWII or reproduction era Soviet uniforms for a short but its amazing how much that stuff can run... The US and German replicas are apparently in demand enough that they are relatively cheap.

A 1911 should be cheap/easy to come buy, but I imagine certain things such as a ppsh or stg44 probably are cheaper to scrapbuild.

Now finding anything other than a sherman in running order is a whole different story..

Though it's off topic have you seen the bloody omaha segment done for the bbc.. They had three or four guys running around with costumes and props and then did some amazing compositing and pulled off a pretty decent scene
