wut to know b4 buying the dvx....?

helpful site...


I am bout to buy the dvx100a, I m new to DV, so I wouldn't know what I am getting. Before I buy it, like to know what do I need to know? how should I check the camera? can some bodies tell me.. in numeric order 1st thing to check... 2nd... 3rd...etc..... don't wanna get a display or refurb ones... thx again, this site is helpful

if you want to buy some ultra low priced one that not at normal market price range.. you are going to get a refurb, or grey market, or somthing bad.. thats a 99% guarantee. ..buy from a reputable dealer, and then you wont have to worry about getting an egg. just buy from EVS tell them loser from dvxuser sent you. they have no idea who i am, but maybe they will buy me a yacht or somthing in return...or just give me a peice of paper that says "your cool" would be nice..rush.. lol

very serious about buying from them though. great prices and service, and support.

and i sooo agree..and there will ALWAYS be somthing better coming out in the future. if you want to make a film, you need to hop off the waiting train and play the game.

taperesources.com used to include a little packet of M&M's with every order they shipped. Great PR.

bwahaha!  so i enter evs this morning w/ my 2 and 3 year old sons and there's a few people ahead of me being helped by a few evs guys(rush being one of them but i didn't know how he looked)...one of the evs guys asked if i've been helped, and i told them that i'm here for a dvx rental from rush.  so i'm waiting and conversing w/ other customers inside and at the same time making sure my kids aren't thrashing the place.  again, someone else asks me if i've been helped and i said i was waiting for rush.  then one of the sales guys comes up to the counter and offers 2 toy cars to my sons who were being shy so he chooses one each for them...so i'm still waiting and another evs guys asked if i've been helped...i'm waiting for rush for a rental...so the guy who offered toy cars to my son was none other than rush?!!?  i was laughing because rush had been around and we didn't know who each other was.  so we're doing the paper work and rush goes to the side and places 2 easter eggs near some tripods...he's telling my sons that rumor has it that the easter bunny came by and left some eggs...i told my sons to pick them up because there was something in them...maybe a century optics lens or a sennheiser mic... ;D finally got all the paper work done while chasing after my kids in and out of the store...hehe...

just wanted to say thank you rush for hooking me up w a last minute dvx rental and keeping my kids preoccupied.  :)  lot of people have been raving about you and now i can see why.  very nice and personable person...

by the way, some guy purchased a dvx this morning...could it be someone here?

naw, things didn't work out...at least i got to check out evs and meet rush...and hooked me up w/ a 100a so it's all good...
