i just dragged an MXF file straight from a p2 card onto a FCP timeline and it plays!!!!

i did it to see what kind of error i would get but i got nothing. it just plays. is this old news?

i googled a bit and found that the new version of p2cms added a driver that allows this to happen. joy joy joy!!!

Yup...but notice that you don't have audio. If you want audio and video tied, you need to Import and merge clips, or Log and Transfer properly, or buy Raylight or Calibrated or MXF2QT.
