yeah I'm sure I'll be flamed for this...but I was watching the mtv movie awards...

and Lindsay Lohan (mean girls) beat Hilary Swank (million dollar baby) for Best Female Performance?

anyone else feel that was totally wrong? and even Uma thurman (kill bill 2) was better than Lohan.

I haven't seen any other winners b/c I changed the channel to mtv right at that announcement.

update - WTF!!! napolean dynimate best movie of the year? what a joke. the movie was funny but not close to best movie of the year.

MTV movie awards. Don't think it's meant to be taken seriously. It's mainly a showcase for the tweeners.

A movie award show on a music video channel that doesnt even show music videos anymore.
what did you expect?

Yes.. its more about teen politics than actual talent, best kiss award pretty much sums it up. Still mildly entertaining though.

Lindsay was so much hotter when she had a few pounds and red hair anyways.

Yeah, I know I'm getting old because I can still remember when MTV played music videos and when SNL was funny.

The MTV Movie awards are voted on by the teenagers that vote on TRL etc. So if more of them went to see Napoleon Dynamite then Million Dollar Baby, it's only inevitable that it would win. Like Jarred said, it's not meant to be taken seriously.

By the way, Jarred, I know where Lindsey's weight and hair color went, Rachel McAdams (the Regina George character.) Woof.

I remember when MTV actually played Music Videos. The Awards show is voted on by the actual viewers isn't it? Explains it.

I had about 12 beers in me and watched the replay. The beer my have intensified the sheer pretentiousness of Tom Cruises’ acceptance speech for the “Coolest Dude Ever” or some junk award.

I’ve never disliked Tom Cruise for any reason (well, maybe The Color of Money) but I spent the rest of the night flinging hatred at Mr. Maguire for a blatant disregard of modesty. Man I wish I was that important.

Then again, I had a buzz so maybe I was just hyper-sensitive

Oh yeah, blame it on the buzz! Those mean ol' beers just wouldn't leave me alone...
