Wrong timeline setup

hello all,
i wan't able to figure out how to search properly for this-- any help would be greatly appreciated! i am still very green with cs5. i recently created a project shot in 720p on a gh1. when i setup the project in cs5, however, i selected the 1080p project type. i am so clueless that i didn't realize until i was almost done that i had a black border around the project. is there anyway to "export" my project / sequence into a new 720p timeline to get rid of this? i would hate to do it all over again (not sure if i can or want to!). help!!!

well after exploring around a bit-- i think i've figured it out...

i hit ctrl-a on the master timeline to select the whole sequence i created and then did a right click to "scale" the project to fit the frame. this removed the black borders from around my project. i guess my question now is -- does this "degrade" the quality of the video / project somehow? thanks for any help!!!
