"Writing" plug-in for Vegas?

You know when you're watching something, and it shows the font/text being WRITTEN onto the screen, whether it's cursive or plain text? I've seen it done in projects that were supposed to be edited in either Avid or Final Cut. I know Final Cut also has a tool/plug-in that allows the text to follow curved paths, etc.

Anyone know if we can do this yet with Vegas 6? Something they are trying to work on for a future release? :thumbsup:
 
You can do the writing without a plugin -- animate a Bezier mask to reveal the letters in the manner you wish.

As for text on a curve, you might be able to do it with the full version of Boris Graffiti, for example. Not sure.

Or, you can always individually place the letters in Vegas itself.
 
As for text following curves, there are some deformations in the text effects tab to give it a curved look. For following a path such as revolving in a circle, you could always move it with track motion.

Thanks guys. I know I could do the mask to make it work, but I'll check Creative Cow to see if they've got any tips to make it look slick.
 
K, maybe it's just me, but I just checked out Creative Cows, and can't stand the layout. I'm sure I've just been spoiled by DVXUSER.com, but I can't seem to make much sense of that forum, find my way around, etc.

I'll just work with the mask the best I can & thanks for the input!
