Hey, i was on my very first shoot today. Ive worked with this company "Short Circuit Studio" for a while doing some editing and audio work for them but never actually filming. I was asked a few weeks ago to help shoot some models for a hair salon. The shoot was at 7:30 so we spent the night at my boss Dillon Griffith's house and were up at 5 packing the crane, steadicam, 2 gl2's (not my cam of choice but i wanted the 2 cameras to match) and we were off. We unloaded, set up, and went to meet the girls. Wow... :love4: I just remember walking away from the set after everyone had left and everything was packed up and all i could think was that i had never had so much fun at work before. I can't imagine doing anything else with my life, this is the only career path for me. I finally understand what people mean when they say "You can do anything for as long as you want if your happy" I can't wait for the next shoot, its really exciting to realize what you want to do with you life:)

Hey I feel the same way man!

I'm getting paid to fly to Hawaii, stay 4 nights in a hotel, and film lava.

That is great! I know a lot of people have stuff they do to pay their bills so they can really do what they love, but me I work as an advertising art director by day and get to make films in my spare time. Beats being a waiter until my big break comes :)
 
after one shoot im ready to pack my ****, head to hollywood with my DVX and make my dreams happen. At worst im still better than michael bay, and at best ill say hi to walt disney for you all.

It's a company called El Dorado Stone, they make artificial stone for architecture companies, and they want to make some sort of documentary. I have no idea really, but I'm stoked!
 
Nothing is better when work takes you places that you never thought you would get to go. Or meet people that could only dream us shaking there hands.
 
I'm in the paying the bills so I can do what I want category. I have a good job, if stressful, so I can afford my house, cars, and camera.

I just haven't had the time to use that third thing much yet :(
