wow...

There is definitely something about it that makes it feel like an animal, yet at the same time it has this strange "something is just wrong" quality to it. From the profile view it looks like two people facing each other while trying to carry a bunch of luggage over hot coals.

Just imagine when these things get faster, quieter, and more agile. The military will probably sheath them in armor and mount machine guns and rocket launchers on them.

I saw this stuff months ago and I guess I should have posted it... yeah... it freaks me out too. I'm guessing the sound is from a 2-stroke engine... and if they get these things refined... they should let them still sound like that...

Can you imagine if you were and enemy soldier and SAW and HEARD that thing coming your way? I'd say "Oh f**k... I didn't sign up for THIS Sarge!"... D'oh! AWOL!

They could have a whisper mode for stealth, but when they want to scare the enemy, turn it off. Imagine a whole battalion of these charging towards you with searchlights, red laser scope beams, and guns blazing. Plus, I'm sure that they will eventually figure out some sort of Predator-style optical camouflage in the not too distant future.

And we know it is likely a jerk like that guy kicking them, that makes them want to enslave or destroy us. Thanks a lot Cletus!

That is freaky and really cool. It's like a giant spider.

Why is it when something like this is developed it needs to used for military purposes. Everyone's first thought is to mount a machine gun to it.

It wouldn't have to be just for military purposes. Rescue, exploration, construction, heck maybe even herding animals or farming.

But as mentioned by Champloo it does resemble the robots from Metal Gear Solid.

Here is a robot machine gun:

Ahhh! That noise! It's like the buzz that preceded every Joker attack in The Dark Knight but ten times more annoying and creepy. That thing is just wrong. The way it recovers when kicked is eerily human. The next 20 years are going to be interesting and full of many WTF?! moments to be sure.

This alludes to that as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vfxl3JoQUTQ&NR=1

Take a look at 1:40 into the video. Why is it that if given the chance to be invisible, every day ordinary people would use this power for crime?

I used to pose the question to my little nieces and nephews "what power would you rather have? the power of flight or the power of invisibility?" They almost always said invisibility. Why? So they could mess with people, steal candy, money, stuff, score free cab rides, etc. Not one of them said, "to secretly go into a veterans hospital and help sick people anonymously".

WOW is right! ...and great... like I don't have enough trouble getting a good night's sleep already.

That poo pooing sound alone.... scary stuff.
