WOW! New laptop!

Guys, I just got my new laptop delivered this morning. WOW! THis thing rocks. I'm busy transferring my files off my old laptop and getting all my programs installed. I'll post some pics later. It's awesome!
 
God help you! I work on computers as a side business and HP, Sony and Dell Laptops are the most I have issues with If you haven't already please purchase an extended parts and labor service plan...I hope you have better luck than others I have seen.

What do you think about TOSHIBA? I have been really digging on their laptops lately but haven't heard too much press...

Interesting, I've heard great things about HP's.
 
I used to have the ZV5000, which is very similar. It was a great laptop, built like a tank and I never had any problems with it. The best part of it though was the lcd screen - it is crystal clear and easy on the eyes. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Does yours have harmon kardon speakers too?

COOL! Mine has Altec Lansing speakers... they sound amazing!!! :thumbsup:

some day I hope to have myself a macbook pro...

I am, however, recieving my tripod/head tomorrow from B&H! can't wait!

briceman, your endorsement is encouraging. I am a HUGE fan of HP printers. There is nothing like 'em. They are beautiful, quiet and make gorgeous images. However, I know of a few HP desktop horror stories. So, I have steered clear of them for sure. But, if you are digging the Notebook, and have heard good things, maybe I can give them another look...
 
My last laptop was an HP. That thing has been through a lot of abuse and is still trucking. Of course after six years it's no longer powerful enough to run software, and the DVD drive doesn't work. But I think that's more my fault than HP's. :)

I replaced it with a Powerbook, and I may never look back.
 
Hey congrats man !!

Oh boy, I've gone through 3 laptops already, and finally I've come to the conclusion that when I get my next one its gonna be one of those sub notebooks, like the Sony Picture book, its really tiny and weighs next to nothing, slip it into your coat/jacket pockets and away you go, I'm fed up with lugging around upto 3KG of computing hardware ! :D

I hear ya... but it's nice having your entire editing suite in your backpack! :thumbsup:
