WOW!Is this possible in vegas 8???

Manually using Pan/Crop and Track Motion. If the subject you are tracking move predictably (pendulum) then it might work, and for some of those movies right before the cuts where they follow maybe 10-12 frames of action you could do it, but for complicated people tracking and such I don't think you will ever be able to make it acceptable just by hand.

AE will do this fairly easy though, and is definitely worth the price of admission.

Thanx..what does this part mean? ''The basic premise is that one piece of movement is tracked in post production, and steadied?'' what do they mean by ''and steadied?'' How do you steady it in vegas?

I move files between AE and Vegas quite a bit.

Pre-edit in Vegas, render, import in AE and effect (usually for motion tracking or extreme stabilization correction), render, import back into Vegas.

I 2nd this workflow.

Render using a non-lossy codec, or using the same codec but at a higher bitrate.

Since I shoot full HD and do the final render at 720P, I just use the usual codec (DVCPROHD) at the highest resolution and drop everything down to 720P only at the final render.
