wow.... huge wave

Sadly, you can no longer take for granted that something like this is real.

At what point does a "wave" get so big that it's its own body of water?

Normally I like to point out how foolish people are for believing ridiculous crap on the net... but no, this time it's truly that amazing.

If you like the ocean, or surfing... I think you'd really enjoy this film.

"Riding Giants" 2004.

Those crazy huge waves aren't crashing on a shore... they went out to a continental shelf or similar feature... (don't remember exactly)... way out in the ocean... to do that. The jet-ski is for both safety and to also get the surfer up to speed on the swell before it becomes a wave he can surf... then use the right camera angle and you get that shot. When the wave is at it's most impressive it's still not as steep as it appears due to camera angle (until it breaks, and then yes, it's flat out awesome... but I don't think it's 100' TALL... although at one point it probably IS 100' "LONG" prior to growing to a break.)
